I am a fan of the BBC shows but, not having cable, only leer what I rent. The book, Wind in the Willows, is an faded approved of mine, though, so I felt safe about purchasing the movies. When I previewed them (I always preview, even when a movie rating states it is appropriate for children) I was gay with the interpretation of the tales yet admittedly a cramped concerned that the stop-motion characters might be listless for my children. They are archaic to the flash and noise of Disney, Warner Bros. and other animation giants. Serene, the converse was respectable so I handed them over. Both my son and daughter sat through the entire movie, then the 5 year outmoded wanted to gape it again. The Memoir of Two Toads also got their attention and now both movies are watched on a regular basis. It’s obedient to study my children can delight in the art and more subtle humor of movies such as these in addition to the prompted-responses typical in original animation.

I appreciate The Wind in the Willows. I like them all. I dont know how to convince you to capture this but I’d open by making the suggestion to recall this one first look The Wind in The Willows, then A Memoir of TWo Toads, bewitch series one and two and three if they really have one. I heard there was a series three but I haven’t bought it yet. Then eye them all over again. I’m a 33 year passe woman and I saw these when I was young something about them unprejudiced stuck with me. It wasn’t til a few months ago that I re-discovered them since childhood. There’s something poetic and classic and magnificent about them. The conclude animation, the details of the characters and the voices…all of it poetry. With a ravishing tranquil message of living life with simplicity and appreciating all the beauty nature and the whole world offers. Something like that you score what I’m trying to set across here. It’s shapely, really appetizing and leaves you feeling at peace with the map things are, really at peace with simplicity and what treasures say a warm cup of hot chocolate could bring on a rainy day all safely tucked inside your dry warm home. Things like that..that’s what the wind in the willows brings. I hope you dont miss your chance or your children dont miss the chance to luxuriate in that.

This is a big two pack to have in anyones collection. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the 80’s movies.

I worship these movies - I remember watching them as a shrimp kid. Even though the jokes went flying over my head when I was younger, there was mild quite a bit for me to appreciate and laugh at. Now that I’m older, I derive a LOT more of the jokes, and the movies are quiet hilarious!

I’m so gay that the movies are packaged together, but I have two (fairly shrimp) qualms: first of all, both movies are in fullscreen. Not a ample deal to some people, but the pan-and-scan is noticeable in some of the more fast-moving scenes. Second, neither DVD has special features of any kind. I would fancy to hear the star’s reactions to the movies, or leer a deleted scene, but these are nowhere to be found. All in all, though - DVDs worth having.

This savory, shadowy cramped cult film is about people who have committed suicide, and are now stuck in a limbo zone that is objective like the living world, but less bewitching. It’s also sad, comical and poignant — everything you want in a very unique dinky indie movie.

Because of a breakup, Zia (Patrick Fugit) has decided that life is no longer worth living. He cleans his house, slits his wrists — and finds himself in a unusual twilight-zone with no sunshine, smiles, or enjoyable food, and entirely populated by suicides — reflect a Midwestern petite town, but more depressing. He eventually gets a job, a rank roommate, and befriends Eugene (Shea Whigham) a likably bombastic Russian rocker.

But then Zia learns from a modern suicide that his girlfriend, Desiree (Leslie Bibb) has also offed herself. So he and Eugene bundle into Eugene’s unpleasant obsolete car, and launch a road slither to rep her — picking up the fair, feisty Mikal (Shannyn Sossamon), who says she’s been placed there mistakenly. The unique trio rattles through this suicide world, until they stumble across a unique camp in the wilderness…

I first heard about “Wristcutters” a long while ago, on myspace — but in the months that followed, it unbiased sort of floated in a limbo of its gain. Blooming frustrating, but Goran Dukic actually makes it worth waiting for — it’s a quirky and dusky indie comedy, a tragedy, and a adore record all in one.

As you can probably guess, the movie’s main message is that you should live a life worth enjoying, and cherish someone worth loving. Yeah, the core of it is a guy who loses the girl, kills himself, tries to accept the girl, and falls in cherish with the worthier choice — all while wondering if like is aloof possible for those whose hearts have stopped.

But that potentially soppy message is wrapped up in clever slight quirks in Wristcutterville (Zia works at “Kamikaze Pizza”) or the various deaths of the people who live there (Eugene electrocuted himself to earn the crowd to pay attention) . It feels pleasantly, wistfully warped — both with macabre humour (the hole-in-the-head cop) and scrumptious dialogue (”I’m not going out tonight. It unbiased makes me dismal.” “So, what you gonna do? Demolish yourself? “) .

And you gotta admit, this postmodern Purgatorio is an enchanting understanding — it’s portrayed with a sort of low-budget magical realism. Suicide wounds, pale faces, bleak landscape, and “Appreciate Will Lag Us Apart” is a celebrated tune. It’s beautiful fitting that the spot for those who have given up hope is a state where hope and joy are nonexistant.

It also has a very superior, poignant ending — yeah, it seems like a bit of a cop-out, but somehow by the time we got there, I didn’t mind. It ties in with the lesson of the movie, and the poignant slight treasure between Zia and Mikal.

Fugit is a likably confused, sweet character who is impartial a bit dense, since it takes him awhile to figure out what a immense, silly girl Mikal is. And Whigham — whose character was partly based on Gogol Bordello’s Eugene Hutz — rules all the scenes he’s in, as one of the few suicides who collected has his vitality, libido and humour intact (”Everyone knows that man in succor does not have c**k”) .

Sad, quirky and poignant, “Wristcutters: A Care For Tale” is an offbeat love/road-trip movie in the land of suicides — it’s a brilliantly warped tiny cult movie, and definitely worth seeing.

This film goes far beyond the short sage “Neller’s Overjoyed Campers” by Etgar Keret found in The Bus Driver Who Wanted To Be God & Other Stories. It is about the peculiar world that suicides go to. (A world unbiased like this one only worse) .

You will search for some unique things on the dash you hold in this film with the characters.

The acting is beneficial.

The soundtrack ranges from the otherworldly to Eskimo throat singing. (You’ve got to hear it)

It is a very unlit comedy but has a surprisingly light touch and a goofy feel-good style. It is hard to record. It is like “Crossroads” meets “Road Warrior” but everybody is already wearisome.

If you liked the unusual Uncommon COUPLE - slob and compulsive neatnik thrown together in the same apartment - or HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON - tough guy WWII Marine marooned on an enemy-held South Pacific island with a aesthetic nun, then you should indulge in FATHER GOOSE starring Cary Grant, Leslie Caron and Trevor Howard. I saw it once again on the telly this past weekend while doing the ironing, and I’m fortunate to be extinct enough to have an appreciation of all three films.

Grant is Walter Eckland, an antisocial, unkempt escapee from “civilization” that spends his time bumming around the South Seas on an primitive yacht. At the begin of WWII, he’s coerced into service as a “hover watcher”, an observer stationed on a remote island as a lookout for Japanese planes or ships, by the wily and dry-witted local Royal Navy authority figure, Comdr. Houghton (Howard) . Eckland is bribed with booze to produce in His Majesty’s service. One of his first assignments is to boat over to another island and rescue a fellow soar watcher. But, on arriving, he finds only his colleague’s grave and the Caron character, Catherine Freneau, the daughter of a French government official, who’s been stranded with a bevy of underage schoolgirls of which she has charge. Walter naturally takes them assist to his island and his hovel, where the differences between the two adults soon surface. To Eckland, Freneau becomes “Goody Two Shoes”, while, to the latter, her knight in stained armor becomes the “Filthy Beast”.

While admittedly amusing entertainment, FATHER GOOSE is a savory romantic comedy that doesn’t, like some of the original Tinseltown offerings, rely for laughs on sensitive body parts being caught in zippers, bodily fluids masquerading as hair gel, or carnal knowledge of apple pies. This film has Class, chiefly due to the presence of Grant, who character demonstrates more suavity unshaven and without socks than any one of today’s carve of male actors dressed up in a tux. (Perhaps only Sean Connery, Robert Redford and Paul Newman are end to being in the same league.) Caron’s strong-willed and very feminine Freneau is more than a match for Eckland’s obstinately boorish masculinity - a pairing made in heaven, or at least Hollywood.

Perhaps my high worship for this film is more a function of nostalgia. But there’re a lot of other films from that same period of my youth that are eminently forgettable, so I have to believe that FATHER GOOSE is a carve above.

Cary Grant is cast as Walter Eckland in this very amusing classic comedy. His normal sexy leading man characteristics are downplayed to let his comedic genius shine through. He stars opposite Leslie Caron cast as Catherine Freneau. They are an accident waiting for a region to happen at their first meeting, and it impartial gets worse from there. Walter is bribed and threatened into service as a watcher in WWII. Catherine is a diplomat’s daughter given the responsibility of escorting several school children into a safer space. When they are all stranded together, the hilarity, and battle of the sexes begins.

This Nova episode is something I saw on TV last evening.I knew about Typhoid Mary from historical tale but knew nothing about the facts.And as the actress portraying her so bluntly keep it her NAME was Mary Mallon,an Irish immigrant cook living in Recent York at the turn of the 20′th century.And as this display so properly points out was responcible for one of the most mysterious and often deadly epidemics of the day.Only disaster is that in some famous ways Mary Mallon didn’t approach off as a particularly sympathetic character-she attacked Dr.Soper,who inicially informed her of her health area with a fork and constantly avaded the attentions of health service officials trying to track her down,while having killed three people and infecting others,unintentionally of course.

Mary was what was known as a healthy carrier.She was infected with Typhoid and was able to spread it to others but experienced no symptoms herself.There were in fact at least several dozen more like her but because of her modern case she got the most publicity by far.That was all compounded by the fact that dues to sexism and social Darwinism of her time she also became the literal poster child for Typhoid.

Probably both but as such likely too alarmed to live with it but to proud to admit it.But anyway this will present very educational and sight catching.

This is another well produced NOVA offering that this time centers on the rank “Typhoid Mary!” I’ve heard the name/ phrase all my life but never really knew it referred to a valid person with a sincere yarn until viewing this DVD. Her anecdote is well told through dramatic reenactments supposedly using the character’s genuine words, vintage photos, and unusual day health and historical experts. And whether Mary was an unknowing victim or a vindictive villain is given fine coverage without reaching a actual conclusion.

The first movie is approximately 10-15 minutes long and details what happened four years before the first season of the point to. We quick forward four years later. The second movie takes station after the first season of the indicate. It’s unclear exactly when. Izzy, one of the Digidestined, joins with Tai to try and defeat this exclusive Digimon who is invading the internet. With the relieve of their Digimon, Agumon and Tentomon, they try to battle this curious Digimon. But this Digimon keeps digivolving at an accelerated rate. So Izzy contacts the other Digidestined and manages to glean Matt and TK to assist along with their Digimon…Patamon and Gabumon. The second movie has a lot of action…but every few minutes, the action goes down a bit so we can have some humor. The main subplot of the second movie involves a droll argument between Tai and Sora. Tai tried to give Sora a hair clip for her birthday and Sora thinks this is Tai’s intention of criticizing her hairstyle. Women! They always have to analyze everything. Anyway…the battles are intense and the music objective tall. Many songs from the tv display are played during the battle and you can’t aid but instruct along…if you like the music, of course.

The third movie takes area four years later…Sometime during the second season. (Actually, the second season collected hasn’t reached the point at which this section of this movie is state. This is clearly seen because in the prove, Patamon and Gatomon don’t have the ability to warp digivolve yet, an ability they clearly have in this movie.) Anyway…in this share of the movie, we learn that the imperfect Digimon four years ago was created by Willis and is actually a computer virus. And it wasn’t really defeated. It somehow escaped into the actual world and has infected one of Willis’ digimon. Willis is also a Digidestined and has twin digimon. Anyway…for the past four years, one of Willis’s Digimon was infected with the virus and making Willis’ life depressed. But with the wait on of Davis and the other Digidestined, they manage to defeat the virus again and free Cocomon from the virus’ control.

The third movie, while not as charming as the first two, has some moments. Humor is one of it’s strenght. The place is a bit vague…but it doesn’t harm the movie in general.

So, if you are a fan of the prove, you will not be dissappointed by this movie.

Digimon: The Movie is a segment of three movies, all relased seperately in Japan. In movie 1, before season one (the novel airings on telivision), Tai (Taichi) and Kari (Hikari), two special characters, meet Koromon at ages 7 and 4. Tai is 7, Kari is 4. They meet a special Digimon who turns out to be Tai’s partner in season 1. This movie was short and to me, handsome un-interesting, but I loved it anyhow!

Movie 2, aka Section 2, takes residence after season 1. Izzy (Koushiro) discovers a DigiEgg on the computer. It hatches in to a baby digimon, and begins to eat up data on the internet. Soon, people from all over the world are watching the battle between Diaboromon (strongest level of digimon) on their computers. Even Yolei (Miyako) from season 2 at a young age appears, sending e-mails along with other kids to Tai, Izzy, Matt (Yamato), and T.K. (Takeru) . Eventually, they beat Diaboromon.

Movie 3 takes space during season 2. Davis (Daisuke), Yolei, Cody (Iori), T.K. and Kari are hanging out at a beach. Davis, Yolei, and Cody are all unusual Digidestined, mind you. They meet Willis and his Digimon Terriermon. He had twin Digimon, Terriermon and Lopmon, but Lopmon ran away and grew up confused and unfriendly. Now Lopmon, aka “Endigomon”, tells Willis to “go relieve”, as Willis comes from Colorado. WIllis created Diaboromon when he wanted three Digimon instead of two. But, when he made Diaboromon, a virus infected him and so started movie 2. But, they carve out HALF OF THIS MOVIE in the American version. Endigomon originally captures the aged Digidestined in order to net Willis. THEY Carve THIS OUT! HALF OF THE MOVIE! But, it was so frosty, my grandparents even liked it! “Kids in America” by Len is playing during the credits. PRODIGIOUS MOVIE! I also have a movie clip of the nick scenes in Japanese. PRODIGIOUS MOVIE!

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST will be a cheap exploitation film to some. And a complete grab your blanky and hot co-co to others(like me _ This starts off with a warning ticket on the movie you are about to stare(a lot like another Dismay masterpiece did in 74) while the warning is being shown you are hearing some of the most HAUNTING music achieve to celluloid. We then are in a plane flying over the coffee like water of the Amazon(No! Not this Amazon) we then jump scenes to Unique York where a T.V.commentator is telling you the viewer that a so few hours flight can hold you to the life of Cannibals(DA DA DUN) We are introduced to 4 very young and valorous individuals who will hover to what they call the Green Inferno and document the lives of Cannibals(DA DA DUN) well they don’t near encourage and a T.V. region hires a professor to catch them with a search party. To effect a long record short he finds cans of film and brings them assist to N.Y. to concept them. What he and the others(including you the viewer) perceive is truly HORRIFYING!!! I can only deliver you this…I have a tall Fright collection and no Panic film has done to me what CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST has done! I’m not saying it is the grossest scare film,nor am I saying its the best anxiety film. But I will say their is a scene in this movie that made me halt the DVD and salvage up to go to the bathroom splash water on my face and say YOUR O.K. I’ve been vowing to never discover Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, and Lucio Fulci films since I was 15. That was when I really got into dismay films by George Romero, Dario Argento, Sam Raimi, Wes Craven, and on and on. Recently I watched Cannibal Holocaust uncut at age 19 on the internet thinking I was ready but I wasn’t ready enough(lol) .

Ruggero Deodato directed this and remains a cult director today, even appearing in Hostel II and currently making Cannibals(a sequel or Americanized version of Cannibal Holocaust) for mainstream release. The cast includes old-fashioned adult film actor Robert Kerman, several lesser-knowns, and mostly proper natives(if it’s accurate but not definite) . The film is actually centered on a professor who goes to a South American jungle to bag out why “the” documentary crew disappeared. The professor brings the reels encourage, then we win out what happened and search for the footage(which is share of the tale) . The film has 80’s independent Italian drama graphics while the “footage” has realistic documentary graphics. The gather has mainly two theme tracks with one as the superior theme track and the other as the disturbing theme track(which stays in the mind) .

Now I’m positive people want to know alot about the issue. It’s graphically violent and graphically sexual. There is frontal male and female nudity as well but it’s mostly cultural and the male nudity is not up end. The violence is again graphic and looks accurate in the “footage.” I was apprehensive by some killings and animal slayings. The animal killings where profitable, graphic and some even perpetrated by the actors(other than the natives) . The sexual hiss is graphic, not hardcore, but graphic since there are brief rapes and casual sex scenes. This is not for everyone and not many obtain away not shrinking.

My understanding is the film is awful for the acting and such but yet it’s fine for it’s cinematography and elements. I like how it’s a film-inside-a-film like those films about a fictional snuff film inside like 8mm. This film has no point yet it does have satire. Anyways I really don’t like the film but I do gawk something more than sensationalism. I only have respect for the film. I won’t survey it again and I may not behold Cannibal Ferox unless I can be convinced it’s not as disturbing and traumatizing. I wan’t to point something out. This has been inaccurate as a snuff film but it’s not. Even the “footage” is counterfeit and fictional. The only steady killings were done to the animals which I condemned since they were only mature as props. AGAIN, this film is not for everyone and not many are desensitive while watching it.

Having re-watched these small jewels from the 60’s, I can sum it up for the perspective viewer like this: If you watched this indicate as a child, you loved it and you’re now reading these reviews debating on whether or not to rent it, I say “Fetch It Now”, you simply won’t be disappointed. You won’t be disappointed. We all watched these episodes on first pass in Dark & White, on petite television screens with exiguous circular UHF antennas, what you will now gape will blow that away. In color you say? They are impartial an absolute blast to stare again after almost 40 years, they are that remarkable fun. You won’t be disappointed. Since we’ve all seen the episodes, the moral enjoyment from this region comes in the originate of the DVD extras and alternate audio sound tracks. As others have mentioned, watching it in the fresh Japanese language with English subtitles is objective too frosty. You rep a sense of how the episodes first appeared in 1967. Even more frigid is watching in English with the English subtitles turned on. The dissimilarity in what was originally written in Japanese vs. what was dubbed in English is very surprising to say the least. It is very though-provoking and often has a more old almost serious tone to the episodes especially the Ultraman origin episode (no spoilers here) . I’m not looking for the secret director’s carve of “Revenge Of The Sith” or the 20th anniversary version of “Robocop” here, I want Ultraman. I want 40 year old-fashioned Japanese television at it’s best and all the insight I can catch about it as a viewing adult. With that in mind, you will thoroughly delight in it and won’t be disappointed. I promise!

This review is for the Complete Series 4 DVD state released in 2009, not the 6 DVD place released in 2008. Since this is my first Ultraman DVD plot, I am not definite if the quality suffers be squeezing all episodes from 6 DVDs to 4 DVDs.

The DVD case is a double-wide DVD case, but there are no spindles/holders. The 4 DVDs are each set in a dusky paper sleeve and are stacked on top of each other. The sleeves don’t disappear around because they are “held” in area by a square shaped molding on the inside of the DVD case.

I was very surprised by this packaging because I have dozens of DVD television sets and have never seen a site packaged like this. For the stamp (I paid $10.99 free shipping), I am okay with it, but impartial be prepared that is a bare-bones budget area.

Me being a Bruce Dickinson fan to the max, I decided to rent this film after being aroused about it finally being released here. Originally released in the UK as “Chemical Wedding”, The film is about Professor Haddo, a bumbling teacher who offers himself for a transformation experiment and soon becomes possessed by Aleister Crowley, which soon turns the school (and the town) upside down.

This film is a dazzling cold movie, but incredibly flawed one. It was Co-written by Bruce Dickinson and directed by Julian Doyle, and stars Simon Callow as Haddo, turning in his best performance. We also regain a brief survey into Crowley before his death (played by John Shrapnel), and a cameo by Brucey himself (as the guy with thick rimmed glasses at the beginning) .

There are lots of flaws though. The film feels really rushed, I wanted to sort of know more about Crowley’s life in general. There’s a bit too distinguished sex in this film- I know Crowley believed in sexual magic, but did we really need that sweaty orgy scene? They could have implied it instead of making it like 8 minutes long. And I’ll admit the effects were a bit cheesy, but then again this IS a coarse budget movie.

Anyways, this film is worth it for the finale alone despite the cheesy special effects. This is a attractive qualified movie, but be aware… this is definitely not for everyone.

I first became aware of Aleister Crowley through press reports that Jimmy Page of led Zeppelin, had been studying the occultist. A period of reading the books of Dennis Wheatley brought a greater awareness of the occult where Crowley’s name was frequently mentioned.

This film begins with the impending death of the man whilst being visited by two students from Cambridge University (UK) . Unprejudiced before he dies he curses one of the students and inflicts serious injury to him. Sixty years on, at Cambridge there is a conjunction between scientific experiments in a virtual world and the continuing tradition of the occult within the confines of the University. During that conjunction, one of the dons becomes possessed by the spirit of Crowley and graduall transforms into him

The transformation presages a series of events which appear to have been predestined by Crowley and his followers many years before. The purpose of the events gradually unfolds, as they tend to do in these matters, into the return of the fallen angel.

Simon Callow, the RSC actor excels in his portrayal of the restored Crowley. His energies contemplate the larger than life personality of the occultist and the famous acts for which he was foul during his lifetime. This is a film of graphic sexuality and bodily functions. Although there is nudity and depictions of orgies and other sexual acts, they are not exhibited except in their role as section of the magickal power. The acts are more of the means by which spells are enacted, a transference of the power of the body into other mighty forms.

Many people will get this film objectionable for a variety of reasons, the subject of the occult or satanic admire, the sexual nature and spend of profanities, the rejection of christian sensibilities or for many other reasons. Nevertheless it is a considerable depiction of the life of Crowley itself. Ultimately, in the final scenes of the film, very reminiscent of the previous fim, The Devil Rides Out, the world is restored to order.

Given the difficult subject matter, I assume that this film has done a first rate job in enlightening the life and works of Aleister Crowley and is to be commended for it.
