what do you think about my ideas for my son's halloween party?
the party will be from 2-5pm, and it’s for his kindergarten class.

while everybody is arriving, the kids can do some freeplay.

once everybody has arrived, we can start with some halloween themed games, such as musical chairs with halloween music, duck duck ghost, a mummy wrap game (in teams, they wrap up one "mummy" with toilet paper and the team that did the best wrapping job wins), have each child walk "the runway" and show off their costumes, and then bobbing for apples.

once they have their apples, they can sit down for a halloween movie and eat their apples. i was thinking either monster house or mickey’s house of villains.

once the movie is done, we can move to the kitchen table and do a couple of crafts…dyed macaroni necklaces and orange and black pompom balls.

then they will eat…there will be healthy food and some junk food like cupcakes and macaroons. to drink will be witches blood (dyed red or green milk)

once it’s time to leave my son and i will thank everyone for coming by handing out party favor bags.

what do you think? any suggestions, especially any healthy halloween themed food would be great

Sounds fun, but keep it organized and dont do to many things….the kids will get over loaded….and make sure the junk food comes after the movie so they will sit still..lol

I found outside games and a picnic table were more fun. We made scarecrows (I called every parent and asked them to send a pair of jeans and a shirt they just grew out of).

A fun food is "dirt", but there are millions of ideas on line.

The toilet paper mummy was a bust because the kids weren’t coordinated enough, and the person being wrapped usually gets overheated and embarrassed about being touched so much.

BUT WHATEVER YOU DO WILL BE FUN AND APPRECIATED:)

A witches broom toss is fun (if they are little use a costume accessory broom).

The kids like dancing to halloween music. We did the macarena to the monster mash

Bobbing for apples doesn’t work for kids with make-up on.

Pin the nose on the witch is fun.

A scavenger hunt is much more fun than a movie. Hide things like rubber rats, bats, black cats, etc, etc.

The runway idea is fun, but i’d make prizes (construction paper pumpkins with a yarn necklace is fine) for best, scariest, funniest, most adorable, blah blah.
