test of forgiveness, necessary or not?
I am 31and 4 years ago i met a woman that I was 100% sure she is the one. I even brought her home and presented to my family, a significant think due to the fact that they live 5000 miles away. My dad told me to test her in this way: brake up with her, nice remain friends meet other women and than 2 years later try to get back, if she really loves you she will forgive you and take you back. Pretty hardcore test, should I try it?

are you farkin mad
? | Mar 14, 2010

I’m sorry but I’m going to say this bluntly:

That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
John | Mar 14, 2010

No offense but your dad sounds like a moron on crack. No, if you love her don’t try it. Try this though. Be honest with her, have fun with her. Laugh with her, and know how to please her in every way sexual and non sexual.
That is just Peachy! | Mar 14, 2010

no thats is a stupid idea
sunshine1976 | Mar 14, 2010

id say no she may move on and you may lose your chance
Andrea | Mar 14, 2010

That’s pretty dumb actually, You could lose out on someone who could have been "The one" and women who are actually worth being with, Get taken pretty quickly by someone they deserve, So good luck with that test. I bet he didn’t do that to your Dad. Lol he must not of liked her & Is giving you a way to lose her. Us women don’t forgive men for stuff like that.
His*Wifey | Mar 14, 2010

No — either your dad is an idiot, or U made this up just to see what people would say.
A test like that would be enough to drive any sensible woman away for good.
Love does not treat people that way. Only a fool would try your plan.
RuthAnn | Mar 14, 2010

You want to be single forever?
M S | Mar 14, 2010

That’s silly! If you are 100% sure that she is the one then there is NO need to test her. If you have been with her for four years you should know if she really loves you or not. DO NOT DO IT!! I think you will lose her if you do.
Moco | Mar 14, 2010

umm no, in 2 years she will have been moved on.
lkjeeee | Mar 14, 2010

Your dad doesn’t like her or your too young.
cool breeze | Mar 14, 2010

i really dont know
Kevin | Mar 14, 2010

Your Dad is a fool! Or he’s trying to break you two up without seeming like the bad guy.
Really, when you deliberately hurt someone’s feelings, then go out with other people for two years, why would you expect/hope that they would be willing to take you back, at your convenience? That’s the second worst advice I’ve ever heard! The worst is "treat them mean to keep them keen".
Any man willing to play that sort of games with our relationship, isn’t one worth waiting for in my opinion.
Barb Outhere | Mar 14, 2010

First of all if you are 31 and need to play games then you will be along for some time, and to listen’
to dad is crazy as well. but hey if you need advice maybe you can asked the women how she feel
but hey she not with you if it been 4 years, so did the trust test work……

Black Snake Moan?
I loved the soundtrack from this movie. Are there any other kinds of songs like that in blues? These songs are really colorful and have a lot of meaning, that’s what i am looking for.

A whole lot of Songs and artrists! This movie was roughly based on the North Mississippi Hill Country Bluesman R. L. Burnside(His band- Kenny Brown-Guitar and Cedri Burnside- Drums play along Samuel L. Jackson in the club/Juke joint scenes) recommend goggling R. L. Burnside ,also T-Model Ford , Junior Kimbrough and Cedell Davis for more music like this Here’s a Few Links to start! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgsC1WlAz WE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cST1Fz575 Eg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ogKiMUvc xM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Taae2zL fA

This is the American Film Institute’s List by the looks of it. I will go out on a limb and say that out of this list the ones that you would most enjoy is, Pulp Fiction/silence of the lambs/do the right thing/forest gump. The one i would find interesting to do a report on is 12 Angry men. If you havnt seen it before is a b&w film that is filimed entirely in one room, landmark for american film.

Does he like me as more than a friend?
I think my guy friend may like me again but im not sure. I asked this question under another catagory but didnt get many or good answers. But to some of the answers i did get, thankyou very much. They were helpful. But i just need as many perspectives on this as possible.
Ive been going over this in my head, and ive spoken to my friends about it, but i need another opinion. I APOLOGISE IN ADVANCE FOR THIS BEING AN ESSAY!! lol!

Last year i met this guy though a friend and we dated for about 3 months. We didnt really see much of eachother cuz we were both going through an intense time applying to uni’s (im 19, he’s 22). Anyway, he broke it off cuz he just wasnt in the right place for a relationship at that time and he had loads of other issues too. So i just had to accept it. We both really liked eachother though, and he still wanted to remain friends, which was cool cuz we hadnt slept together or anything, and i still really enjoyed his company.

From then till now he has changed so much. His life is so much more stable now, and he has stopped all his "bad habits" (not going in to detail as its a bit personal for me to just tell random people but you get what i mean). Hes so much happier now. Its so lovely to see.

Lately though, (like in the past 4 months), he has been very touchy feely with me. He’s always teasing me. He stares at me and smiles. We talk to eachother more than we ever did when we were dating. Hes always asking me about my family, he even mentioned about meeting them…my dad in particular. He wanted to make me dinner at christmas time, but ended up getting really busy, and so did i, but is still going to plan a time to do it. The other week he held my hand whilst we crossed the road. And the past couple of times hes put his arm around me when we walk outside, and we link arms too. We have quite intense coversations about things, and he does tell me quite personal things. He even bought me a present last week.

This is basically it, or there is just so much ive forgotten half of it lol. But i just need another opinion on it. Like i said ive spoken to a couple of friends and they’ve both said the same thing. I just think that some of the things are quite out of the friend zone.

More recently he has become more verbal about things. Like he told me he thinks im really cute, and when we were laughing, he grabbed me and kissed me on the forehead.

Help will be greatly appreciated :) x x

Mature answers please. Thanks

Yup, it’s more than obvious that he likes you.
JC | Feb 08, 2010

I think so :) Tester | Feb 08, 2010

Yes I think that he likes you. The signs are there. You’ve known this person for a while and he’s becoming more vocal about his feelings towards you–I think this shows that he’s had time to collect his thoughts and fully realize what he feels for you. The fact that he tells you these things shows that at the very least, he cares about you. Also, he seems to be interested in your thoughts and ambitions if he is asking you questions about your life and your family. This shows that he wants to be part of your life, he wants to support you. I think the fact that he has taken it slow shows that he fell in love with your soul before lusting to be physical with you. He has been your friend and if he is just now being physical with you…I think it’s a sure sign that he likes you and the recent physical signs are showing that he’s finally willing to express the fact that he likes you. Go for it. Ultimately, that’s what love is–caring for a person and loving them just as they are.
Ad Astra | Feb 08, 2010

Yeah! he does like you, it sounds like you mean so much to him. I mean no guy will be willing to meet your dad. It sounds like he treats you well. Maybe he’s shy to ask you out. Go with what your friends told you, I mean i’m sure they know him. So go with their advice, since it’s obvious that they know more about ur guys’ history.

PLZ HELP! Is the movie ' It's Complicated' a good movie to go see for a 14 year old?
so is the movie a good one to see? Is it better than ‘Did you hear about the morgans?’
thanks :)
thanks we’re gonna go c it tmrw. hopefully its good, there are no other gwd movies on

I’ve seen It’s Complicated. It is rated R so it probably isn’t good for a 14 year old. There isn’t any nudity and hardly any swearing..not that I recall. But it is very sexual and there is a SOME drug use. A 14 year old might not understand all the jokes. I would suggest seeing a different movie

David finally breaks away from his father and goes away to study overseas, he later suffers a breakdown and returns to Australia and a life in an institution. War and Peace
War and Peace (1956)

IMDB rating: 6.60

Plot: At the beginning of the 19th century, Napoleon’s forces controlled much of Europe. In Russia, one of the few countries still unconquered, the army prepares to face Napoleon’s troops in Austria. Among the soldiers are Nicholas Rostov (Jeremy Brett) and Prince Andrei Bolkonsky (Mel Ferrer). Pierre Bezukhov (Henry Fonda), a friend of Andrei’s and self-styled intellectual who “knows what’s right but still does wrong,” is not interested in fighting. Pierre’s life changes when his father dies, leaving him a vast inheritance. He is attracted to Natasha Rostov (Audrey Hepburn), Nicholas’s sister, but gives in to baser desires and marries the shallow, materialistic Princess Helene (Anita Ekberg). The marriage quickly ends when Pierre discovers his wife’s true nature. Andrei is captured and later released by the French, and returns home only to watch his wife die in childbirth. During a visit to the country months later, Pierre and Andrei meet again. Andrei sees Natasha and falls in love, but his father will only permit the marriage if they postpone it for one year. While Andrei is away in Poland on a military mission, Natasha is drawn to Anatole Kuragin (Vittorio Gassmann), a scoundrel and libertine. Pierre tells Natasha of Anatole’s past before she can elope with him. Napoleon (Herbert Lom) invades Russia. Pierre visits Andrei on the eve of the battle, and observes the battle that follows. Traumatized by the carnage, he vows to kill Napoleon himself.

religion of peace indeed!?
Author: Mr Francois Gautier
Publication: groups.yahoo.com

The West seems to have suddenly woken-up to Muslim fundamentalism in South Asia when the Taliban broke down the Bamyan statues, in spite of frantic appeals from all over the world. But there is a bit of hypocrisy in the outrage triggered by this destruction.

Firstly, Islam is very clear about statues: didn’t the Prophet Mohamed break down himself the first stone Gods ? Thereafter, it became a holy duty for all good Muslims. Firuz Shah Tughlak (1351-1388) who has an avenue named after him in New Delhi, wrote: "on the day of a Hindu festival, I went there myself, ordered the executions of all the leaders and practitioners of this abomination; I destroyed their idols and temples to build mosques in their places".

As Belgium historian Konraad Elst points out, "Muslim fanatics are merely faithful executors of Quranic injunctions. It is not the Muslims who are guilty, but Islam". Thus, the Taliban, who want to restore the early purity of Islam, really thought they were performing a righteous act by destroying the "heathen" Buddhist statues.

Secondly, does the West ever protest when Hindu temples are destroyed periodically in Bangladesh and Pakistan? The HRCBM, a Santa Clara-based organisation that investigates and exposes human rights violations in Bangladesh, has recorded a few of the outrages against Hindus in Bangladesh during the year 2000: On March 29, 2000, Malarani Roy of Karagola village was abducted by Muslims. She was brutally beaten up and gang-raped. The local police found her, but refused to register a case.

On June 26, a group of Muslims directed Smriti Rani Saha of Sirajganj town to migrate to India. When she refused, she was abducted, gang-raped and brutally murdered. On May 28, Debasish Saha of Poradaha was fatally shot by a Muslim gang. On June 4, Mayaram Tripura of Balipara was shot dead by local Muslims. On October 6, 2000, Muslim devotees, after offering namaaz at the Gajipur Jama Masjid, strolled across to the Hindu Kali temple, destroyed the puja pandal, smashed the idols, and looted nearby Hindu-owned shops.

Take a look at the figures of the Hindu population of India’s Muslims neighbours: in 1941, there were approximately 25% Hindus in Pakistan and 30% in Bangladesh; in 1948, only 17% in Pakistan and 25% in Bangladesh; in 1991, a bare 1.5% remained in Pakistan and less than 10% in Bangladesh.

Thirdly, the West has not yet realized that for the Muslims of South Asia , Hindus are the Kafirs by excellence: the Buddhists adore only Buddha, the Christians only Jesus, but Hindus worship a million Gods and Goddesses; and that makes them - even today - the number one enemy of Islam. This is why Kashmir is so important: it is not about territory, it is about a Holy war against Hindu India that has been going on for fifteen centuries and it is only the first step of the encirclement of India by hostile Muslim neighbours: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, with soft nations, like Nepal, often lending them a helping hand.

Nothing symbolizes more the absoluteness of Muslim belligerence towards Hindus than the Hindu Kush. Historically, the passes across the Hindu Kush have been of great military significance, providing access to the northern plains of India to foreign invaders, starting from Alexander the Great in 327 BC, to Timur Lane in 1398 AD, and from Mahmud of Ghazni, in 1001 AD, to Nader Shah in 1739 AD. As noted by Srinandan Vyas in the Hindu.net website: " In Persian, the word ‘Kush’ is derived from the verb Kushtar - to slaughter or carnage, because all Hindus living there were slaughtered.

Encyclopaedia Americana says of Hindu Kush: The name means literally ‘Kills the Hindu’, a reminder of the days when Hindu slaves from Indian subcontinent died in harsh Afghan mountains while being transported to Moslem courts of Central Asia. While Encyclopaedia Britannica mentions "that the name Hindu Kush first appears in 1333 AD in the writings of Ibn Battutah, the medireview Berber traveller, who said the name meant ‘Hindu Killer’, a meaning still given by Afghan mountain dwellers who are traditional enemies of Hindus".

"Unlike the Jewish holocaust, writes again Vyas, the exact toll of the Hindu genocide suggested by the name Hindu Kush i

Christianity also claims to be a religion of peace.

However, history paints a different picture. Just look at the Inquisitions, the Crusades, the witch-hunts, the heretic burnings, the Thirty Years War, etc.

Not all hindus are peaceful people either. I know of some Christians who have been dragged out of their houses and beaten to death in India.

I guess one thing that Hindus, Christians and Jews all have in common is that some Muslims hate us and would like to kill us.
