What do you think of my story?
I’m only 13, so I’m not an experienced writer. I haven’t spellchecked it or anything, so I’m sure my grammar is atrocious. This is just the beginning of the story, so it doesn’t have much of a plot yet, and I’m not really sure where I’m going with it.
It’s long…you don’t have to read it all if you don’t want to. But read some of it, please, and comment on it.
I realize the paragraphs should be spaced out, and that’s how I typed it originally on WordPad, but it didn’t turn oout that way on here. Sorry.

The sun beat down, hot and suffocating and altogether too much for November.
But that’s the way it always was in these parts. Year round, the weather was warm and dry, and it was impossible to tell one day from the next.
There was a city about twenty miles away, a tourist trap, with shopping malls and movie theaters and office buildings and air conditioning. Most of the people who lived here worked in the city, and they all took the only bus that ever dared come out this way.
Sometimes a lone visitor, from up north, Ohio maybe, would somehow find his way over here. But upon seeing how desolate and lackluster this part of the country was, he would quickly go back to the city with its loud noise and entertainment, leaving the natives to themselves.
Luke didn’t mind it around here. He could never understand his classmates, when they talked about growing up and leaving, going somewhere where there were more opportunities and chances to take. They were tired of this place, of the shabby houses and low population and the constant smell of salt. But Luke never imagined himself being anywhere but here.
He’d always been somewhat of a loner around them anyway. There were so few of them that they all grouped together. And he’d been left out somewhere along the line. They were a complete puzzle, and no matter what he did, no matter hoe hard he tried, there wasn’t room for him in their tightly-knit circle. There was no particular reason why, that he could think of. But that’s the way things had always been, and it would be stupid of him to try to mess with something like that.
So Luke just did his own thing, going to the beach every day and trying to evade his mother’s yelling at him to put on sunscreen.
"I tell you, boy, you’re just melanoma waiting to happen."
"Whatever, Ma. I’ll be fine."
"Don’t ‘whatever’ me. Now put this on."
She’d grab the bottle, shake it a few times, and squirt some of it onto her palm. The white of the lotion was a stark contrast to her suntanned hands.
Luke rolled his eyes good-naturedly, but stood still while she rubbed it on his shoulders. He always excused her for being what he considered overprotective, figuring that since his father left her when she told him she was pregnant with Luke, and since he was her only child, that she had a right to treat him like a baby. He was all she had, and she was going to hold onto him as long as she could.
She shoved the bottle into his hands. "Now you take this with you, and don’t forget to put it on when you get out of the water."
They both knew he wouldn’t, be he said, "Sure, Ma," and left.
It was a short walk up to the beach from the house, and Luke walked barefoot, loving the feel of the sand between his toes. He loved the beach, with the gulls that sat on the rocks and the shells that washed up on the shore. When he wasn’t in school, he spent most of his time there, so much that he had a year-round tan and his hair had been lightened so much from the sun that it was almost white. This gave him an odd appearance, and at times he wondered if maybe that was why he was excluded. But then he would just shrug, and go back to the beach.
He was usually alone there, unless some of the girls from school happened to come around, wearing brand new bikinis from one of the malls in the city. And even then they’d just look along the wide expanse of sea, sand, sun, and sky, and upon seeing no boys worth pursuing, they would leave.
So Luke would swim and build sandcastles all day, and collect shells in a brown bag. He always dumped them out before returning home. He used to bring them back to his mother, but she’d ended that by telling him that she saw enough shells in the course of a normal day, since they lived right by the ocean, and so she did not need to be brought more.
Once the sky started turning orange, and smears of violet appeared along the horizon like a watercolor painting, Luke would head back home. Every day his mother would complain about how dirty he was, and every day she’d make him stand outside and hose himself off before she allowed him in the house. While he took a shower, she’d cook macaroni and cheese or ramen noodles or something similar, and they would eat.
Later, when night fell and the sun faded away to the other side of the world, it got colder. That was when Luke liked to lie outside on the grass in his backyard, hands clasped behind his head. He liked to look out at the stars, which at times seemed so close he c
Looks like it exceeded the character limit. So it’s not all there.
I don’t really care if people steal it…I just wrote this because I was bored. I could just write another with a different plotline and then not put it on the Internet.

you should delete it cus other ppl will steal it

relationship with my teacher…? please give advice!?
So, I am 16 years old and I am in a relationship/close friendship (I guess?) with my 26 year old history teacher. This is not one of those creepy pedo stories or anything, I just really need your opinion. Back to the story. Mr. Johns was my history teacher freshman year and this year (sophmore). He was the coach of fall soccer and winter basketball, both of which i’ve played on for the last two years. He’s always been really caring and kind if I’ve had a bad day. He suggested at the beginning of the year that we have weekly conferences to talk about my grades / classwork / notes. He always talked to me outside of class and at lunch and practice. He’s really funny and cute and he looks a lot younger, like more college aged than 26. SO, that was earlier this year. That was just that we were good friends and we had a normal fun student/teacher relationship. NOW: so like in november, i was staying late in his class and the door was closed and i was sitting in a desk in front of the big teachers desk joking about my bad test grade and he walks around and leans against the front of the desk when im getting my books to leave. and when i stood up my hair kind of fell in my face and he reached out and pushed it behind my ear and smiled at me. it kind of triggered something beyond like "he’s my favorite teacher" and into i actually like him. he’s just very caring and kind but so funny and his class is always really fun. back to the story, yeah so since then we’ve been like i guess in kind of a secret relationship. we’ll kiss in the small history office and after basketball practice in the locker rooms (empty of course) and no one knows. I dont really think im in danger. im a smart girl, and i know when things have gone too far, but i cant bring myself to stop this. we r at a private school so its a risk for both of us, but he says its ok. one time, at a basketball game, a girl from another team pushed me down really hard and practically threw me on the ground and i sprained my ankle and he ran out on the court way faster than our other coach and carried me to the trainer and kept asking if i was alright. and we had a game a couple days later that i couldnt participate in becuz of the ankle, but he still wanted me to go as a manager. hes just so sweet and i really like being around him. sometimes after bball we’ll meet up at a restaurant further away from our school and just sit and talk and have dinner. its just so relaxed with him. we dont have sex or anything but we have kissed. it doesnt feel wrong, but i kinda think it may be. idk. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR ADVICE/VIEW! I APPRECIATE YOUR OPINIONS OF THE SITCHUATION. sorry this is so long! (thats what HE said!)

i dont think its that bad other than you being under 18 and thats against the law
Just keep this "relationship" as far away from your school as possible

You are obviously more than a little naive if you put his taking you to the trainer for help in the same category as kissing in empty rooms at school! Sorry, but this is a creepy pedophile. You are both underaged AND his student. You are not the one at fault here, but he is doing something absolutely wrong, and could (and probably should) lose his job over it. I know that is NOT what you want to hear, but a) he is too old for you, and b) he is a teacher at your school. He has no business kissing a student.

What do you think of these names?
Please tell me your suggestions on these names.

Girls:

Rebekah "Beky" or "Beka" Hope- Rebekah Hope.
Brooklyn Faith.
AbbyGale (Other form of Abigail) "Abby" or "Gale" Joy- AbbyGale Joy.
Ella "Ellie" Grace.

Boys:

Blake Christian
Jared Nicholas
Garrett Cole
Kyle James
Ryan Michael

I have a friend who is called Rebekah (spelled that way as well) and she doesn’t get made fun of because her name is spelled that way.
But i like the name Ella Grace because it’s not really a common name (i’ve never met anyone called Ella)

For the boys i like the name Jared Nicholas.
I also like Kyle but Ryan is such a common name nowadays.
I like the first name Blake aswell.

DaniDeath | Jan 10, 2010

From the girls: I don’t like Rebekah or Brooklyn: Rebekah because I just hate that name, I don’t really have a reason why, and Brooklyn because I think it sounds common and sort of chavvy (if you’re American and don’t know what a chav is then look it up). :)
I think Abigail is quite a nice name, but the spelling AbbyGale is hideous - seriously, stick to the traditional spelling, it is MUCH prettier.

Ella is a beautiful name and it goes really well with Grace. This is by far my favourite name on your list.

Boys, I think:
I like Kyle James and the name Ryan (but I don’t think it really goes with Micheal - it doesn’t flow very nicely.) and I also love the name Nicholas, but not Jared. I also really dislike the name Garrett - it sounds like something horrible, like a type of disease or something. I do like the name Cole as a middle name, though. I think that Blake Christian is OK, but I’m not crazy on it.

Favourites: Ella Grace and Kyle James.

um i wouldn’t suggest beky or beka because some people will make fun of her because of the slang word becky which means the part that a girl has but not the boys rebekah and the rest is good

blake christian = you should change the the last name cause its used for a first name
jared nicholas = thats good
garret cole = good
kyle james = a bit good

Is it cheating when you share non physical intimacy with someone besides your spouse?
i.e; genuine concern, terms of endearment, advice, etc?
This does not include talking about the spouse or details about the relationship with the spouse…just to clarify.

I think there is a fine line with this one between friendship and desire. Through talking intimately with a member of the opposite sex and having the feeling they understand is a precarious place to be. I do believe it is possible to keep it non physical but the whole emotional content thing is open to debate. Some see it as cheating I do not necessarily. If it is an everyday thing and all consuming then it takes focus away from the real relationship between man and wife the the moment it does that it is wrong.

eagledreams | Feb 03, 2010

Its a form of cheating called "emotional cheating". It’s where you don’t get that kind of attention from your spouse so you look for it elsewhere….it is still cheating, just to clarify that.
The Devil's Original Concubi | Feb 02, 2010

bejay | Feb 02, 2010

Other than terms of endearment, it sounds to me like you are describing a friendship. I am a male, and my male friend and I do feel genuine concern for each other, give each other advice, etc. So are you asking if it’s cheating to have friendships with members of the opposite sex? I don’t think so.
Happy-2 | Feb 02, 2010

YES… i agree with you devil. i ‘m a victim of it.
sojo | Feb 02, 2010

no but you also have to realize things can appear to be more to someone and reassure them
perhaps you are an empath and just have a bond with all people in need emotionally; that is a good thing. but take care of the home front first, sometimes that is hard when one party is hostile or defensive- remember this is often based on insecurity and hurt feelings rather than an accuse of you doing something wrong.
lovechild | Feb 02, 2010

Yes, and more destructive than physically cheating (in my opinion)… How dare he share intimate information about us & our life to someone else… And if he tells his secrets to her & lusts after her while I am cooking, cleaning, carpooling, & laying down with him while he imagines it’s her, then SHAME on me for not waking up & smelling the coffee!!! How dare someone do this to the person they made promises to…

So, yes… it’s the highest form of cheating if you ask me…

Not talking about hte spouse, but sharing things about yourself when you are already committed to someone else?

I like having my male friends. However, we all agree that if their significant other or mine has issues with our friendship & we exclude them, then there is something wrong & we should cool it. We should never put our friendship or bond above our S.O.
T. | Feb 02, 2010

yes to a point when you start carring for the other woman MORE than your spouse then it is cheating
many forms of cheating not just physical but there is emotional abuse as well
oh_jo123 | Feb 02, 2010

no i don’t think its cheating. its simply being a good friend but just make sure that while you are being attentive towards this person that you are not in fact hiding deeper feelings for them. If its a case that you prefer to spend more time with this person than your partner then perhaps you should concentrate a little more on your relationship at home. Do you still wish to be there for your partner emotionally?? are you still complimenting your partner or are you completely focused on this other person?? are you harboring secret feelings for the "friend"?? only you will know the answers to this and if you feel strongly then maybe you should make a little distance between this friendship before you actually do cheat which really wouldn’t be fair on anyone…hope this helps!
yumimummuy | Feb 02, 2010

Yes, it is. There is more ways than one to cheat. If you have to hide or keep it a secret from your wife…..
MZ. RO | Feb 02, 2010

Yes. You should be discussing those issues with your spouse. You are playing with fire and you are going to get burned.

She was advised to just only use baby shampoo on her hair, and then just dry it normally, that what she has been doing and it has been working.

Is there any books like City of Bones- Mortal Instruments series.?
I absolutely LOVED the series. Now, I’m waiting for the City of Fallen Angels and the Clockwork Angel to come out, another shadow hunter series, and I have noting to read. I would really like any book similar to the City of Bones. Any suggestions?
I’m into the supernatural stuff like vampires, werewolves, faeries, angels, demons etc- with romance
I’ve read:
- City of Bones, City of Ashes and City of Glass
- Vampire Academy series
- House of Night series
- Twilight
- Wicked Lovely (just finished)
- Harry Potter

They’re NOTHING like the Mortal Instruments series buuuuuut you might like Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and the Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong.
Pudinii | Jan 29, 2010

You have the same taste in books as me (: I’ve read all the same books as you!

My suggestions would be:

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick - Its well written and a refreshing change from all of the vampire novels out there. The main character Nora Grey falls for her lab partner Patch. He’s mysterious, a "bad boy" and turns out to be a fallen angel. I don’t want to give too much away but its a book you can’t put down and has a great twist. AND the cover art is amazing. Here’s more reviews of the book if you want to learn more - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63396 64-hush-hush

Strange Angels by Lili St Crow - is another really good read. The main character Dru reminds me of Rose Hathaway in the Vampire Academy series. She’s tough and stubborn. This book has everything from zombies to vampires to werewolves but isn’t like any of the other books out there. You really can’t guess what’s going to happen next in the book which makes you want to keep on reading. There’s romance but a lot of action too. The next book in the series Betrayals is out too. Here’s more - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/60065 18-strange-angels.Strange_Angels

Hope I helped

Free Willy
Free Willy (1993)

IMDB rating: 5.30

Plot: Fishermen separate a young orca whale (Willy) from his parents and he ends up in a fish bowl at a marina. Meanwhile, a street kid runs afoul of the law and gets caught vandalising the marina, but his social worker gets him off the hook (so to speak) provided he cleans up his mess at the marina. While there, he befriends the whale and teaches him tricks, something the trainer hasn’t been able to do. But when Willy is a dud in front of the audience, the marina owner plans some bad things, and the boy and his friends must try to (*** MAJOR SPOILERS ***) free Willy.

hi. you can try youtube. Its a good site to download songs for free. First go on the song you would like to download.
Copy the URL in other words the address of the page.
Go on www.keepvid.com and paste the URL in there and press enter. After that you can choose either low quality or high quality format and right click as it says and then "Save Link As" Save it and it should be downloading.
You may just need a video converter after if the download isn’t the right format.

Well, I’d much rather you pay for your music instead of stealing, so I’d advise you to visit any MP3 website in which you can purchase the song. Also the song is called "Will You Be There", type that into the Google search engine and search all sites provided.

Brilliant song by the way, really expresses on other levels Michael’s greatest work.

What IS IT with you FREELOADERS? Most music of today is COPYRIGHTED and you have to BUY IT.. just like everyone else.. you can’t STEAL IT for FREE on the internet NOR SHARE IT FOR FREE… wow.. what a concept… you have to PAY for someone else’s work and intellectual property! I am NOT a rich person either BUT I RESPECT the HARD WORK that artists do in order to produce the music for us!!! Would YOU work 30+ years COMPLETELY WITHOUT GETTING PAID??? There is a REASON for this message because FREE downloading and sharing is STEALING REGARDLESS OF THE SOURCE!!

Geesh, why EVERYBODY wants EVERYTHING for FREE…?? Being a teenager is JUST one of those PATHETIC excuses!! In short: Only COPYRIGHT-FREE music can be downloaded for FREE!
