Why couldn't King Kong just climb over the wall the natives built?
They built that huge wall with the huge door on it. Why could he just climb over the wall? I mean he’s a freaking ape right? He could climb the side of a building but he can’t climb over a wooden wall?

Midnight Chronicles (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.70

Plot: In the world of MIDNIGHT, it is a time of overwhelming darkness. After three ages of scheming and war, the dark god Izrador has finally defeated the heroes and armies of the free races. Now, he rules the world of Aryth with an iron fist. Enslaved under the Shadow, the race of men leads an oppressed existence, and the elves and dwarves have retreated to distant forests and mountains, where their desperate resistance is slowly succumbing to the unyielding might of the Shadow. Investigating the disappearance of a legate priest, the infamous Mag Kiln has been ordered by the church to travel to the small Erenlander town of Blackweir. There, he soon becomes entangled in an old mystery and begins to uncover not only the forbidden legacy of the town, but the malevolent, prophetic force that grows within him. MIDNIGHT CHRONICLES is the epic narrative that tells the tale of two legendary characters — one for the cause of good, the other for the cause of evil. God just LOVES mass murder so how can he be good?
"And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes…" (I Chronicles 20:3)

Comment
Chapters 17-19 (17-18-19) tells us that David killed 22,000 Syrians and that Abishai killed 18,000 Edomites. No one expresses shame at such slaughters.

Here in 20:3, we have David, counted as a great leader of the Israelites, slaughtering captives after the cessation of hostilities. From what high moral ground should we admire this action?

"And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, ‘Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.’" (Numbers 25:3-4)

Comment
Those who worshipped other gods must die, and even more horribly, their heads displayed publicly. Either God never said anything so cruel, or we truly live in a cursed universe, ruled by a maniac Supreme Being.

Millions of people, today, switch their religions. If God had any interest in this ongoing process, there appears no evidence of this

"And Gideon said, Therefore when the Lord hath delivered Zebah and Zalmunna into mine hand, then I will tear your flesh with the thorns of the wilderness and with briers" (Judges 8:7)

"Now Zebah and Zalmunna were Karkor, and their hosts with them, about fifteen thousand men, all that were left of all the hosts of the children of the east: for there fell an hundred and twenty thousand men that drew sword." (Judges 8:10)

Comment
The Gideon Society places Bibles into motels and hotels across America. One would assume Gideon lived as a person of exemplary character and great worth to have a worldwide society named after him. Below describes some of Gideon’s accomplishments:

Gideon slaughtered thousands in battle by plotting with the "Lord" to use Treachery.
Gideon murdered thousands more for worshipping "false Gods."
Gideon tortured and killed still more for daring to taunt him.
Gideon plundered the bodies of his victims (to fashion a jeweled priestly vestment).
Gideon fathered an offspring who killed 69 of his stepbrothers.
Read the story of Gideon in Judges, chapters thru 6-9 ( 6-7-8-9). The tale of Gideon describes just one of the many horror stories in the Bible, a book that glorifies behavior abysmal to modern society. The clergy and leaders have hoodwinked millions of people about the stories in the Bible. Don’t let others decide for yourself.

"And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead." (Exodus 12:29-30)

Comment
If we believe every word in the Bible as coming from God, then it stands to reason that the violent actions from the God described in Exodus cannot give us a moral comparison to live our lives in a peaceful world.

If one wishes to believe that God possess love for His creations, then the killing of innocent children cannot possibly come from God, and therefore, these verses from the Bible must have come elsewhere. But note that if one takes the Bible’s words as absolute truth, then not only did God smote the firstborn children, but all firstborn regardless of age. This means all firstborn teenagers, firstborn men & women, firstborn octogenarians, and even all firstborn cows and bulls. Regardless of how much love, charity, or goodness they may have imparted to the world, if they had the unfortunate luck to have first passed through their mother’s vagina in the land of Egypt, according to the Bible, God killed them!

"And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." (I Samuel 6:19)

Comment
Here we have just one more instance of God performing mass murder, a sadistic killer far worse than Hitler, Attila the Hun or Pol Pot.

These verses should insult the intelligence of any person who thinks that God possesses a loving nature.

One should not dismiss the Old Testament’s repeated demand for the vilest atrocities as something peculiar to the early Hebrews. Even today, our most atrocious wars, terrorism and hate crimes occur around the world based on ancient religious beliefs, many of them coming directly from verses in the Old and New Testament.

"And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God…" (Deuteronomy 13: 5)

"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy da
"And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God…" (Deuteronomy 13: 5)

"If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;" (Deuteronomy 13: 6)

"Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people." (Deuteronomy 13:8-9)

"Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword." (Deuteronomy 13:15)
Comment
These severe laws commanded the members of the Hebrew religion to murder even their own children if they did not worship Yahweh (God).

These Bible words can justify, to a fanatical fundamentalist believer, the killing of friends or family simply because they may fail to change their beliefs.

Why anyone today would accept these words, much less allow them to exist in a sacred book goes against the nature of any tolerant and loving people.
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." (I Samuel 15:2-3)

Comment
No matter how one can justify possible crimes from adults, suckling infants have no means of acting out crimes. And what evil against God could the animals have possibly performed? Only an evil entity could kill innocent infants and animals, no matter what their parents and owners may have done.
Edit: Babbie, first off, you ASSUME that I am angry because I call YOUR god into question. Why do I have to be angry to post a question that doesn’t agree with your view point. Secondly I am not afraid of retaliation from a fictional character. Third I am on here posting this question to try to show you how ridiculous your childish beliefs are. If you didn’t miss this the first fifty times you read it in your bible than answer the question and justify how a mass murdering god could be considered good instead of spouting YOUR anger at my question in my direction.
Edit: Kick, please provide any example of how my post is a rant, whiney, illogical, or cherrypicking? You can look up any of the verses I quoted. They are NOT out of context so therefore they are not cherrypicking, and they are not partial verses. YOU FAIL

All you really have to do is take all your personal emotions away from your observation of the Bible, or the Old Testament, and just see what Jehovah did. It’s clearly psychotic behavior. I don’t want a "God" like that! It’s amazing how some people will defend it, saying "well, he was justified in killing everybody". Really?
The god of the Old Testament is described as a JEALOUS, VENGEFUL god, a WAR-MONGER! He said
"Thou shalt not kill", and then proceeded to help the Israelites to BRUTALLY kill TENS OF THOUSANDS of Arab’s in order to take their land!

How much does shipping cost from e.l.f. (eyeslipsface.com) or what is a place that sells ALL of the products?
I live in south east MI. I love elf products and they are super cheap too. I want to buy online if possible, because I don’t have to look around on a bunch of shelves to find stuff, and there is a code to get a free mini make-up kit. How much for shipping? Or which is the best store, like wal mart or kmart or mart mart or whatever?

TARGET is the only store that sells them.
Online is your best bet - eyeslipsface.com
Shipping is $6.95

I suggest ordering online if you have more then $50 in products that you want (if need more things, get stuff from the studio line or one of the body packs) becasue it’s automatic free shipping. you can check out the website to find out shipping if it’s less then $50. but as far as I know it’s still cheap.

Where did the curse of the Mummy start?
I’m watching a bad mummy movie and I’m wondering, where did the stories of mummies coming to life and being mad start? I know there were curses on tumbs to warm people away. Any help? Thanks.
I know about curses what made (supposedly) people sick. I mean the ones that make mummies get up and chase you around. And yeah, I know it isn’t real.

The first famous incidence of the Curse of the Mummy comes from the infamous tomb of the young king Tut-ankh-amun. Above one door to an inner chamber was inscribed the warning, "Death comes on swift wings to those who disturb my rest." Following the opening of the tomb in the 1920s to British scientists and their colleagues, and the exposition of a lot of the items, members of the expedition team began to fall ill and/or meet with strange deaths. One of the last died at nearly the same moment as his dog, and a child was killed by the overturning of his funeral carriage, seeming to seal the idea of the pilfered tomb as a source of an ancient curse. Some have theorized that the deaths were unrelated except for the victims’ association with Tut’s tomb, while others have explained that the ailments experienced by some were caused by a mold spores which were released when the tomb was opened and caused respiratory troubles, which could be fatal. Anytime you open up a room that’s been sealed for thousands of years, you have to be prepared for something unpleasant to come out of there, whether it’s a curse or just a bad smell.
And while not perhaps the very first to write a mummy-coming-to-life story, two of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s (creator of Sherlock holmes, remember) short stories published before the heydey of British Egyptomania are notable and skillful examples: "The Ring of Thoth" (1890) and "Lot No. 249" (1892). His novel The Jewel of Seven Stars has a similar theme to the finding-a-human-host-for-a-trapped-spirit motif that we see as part of the mythology of the literary mummy.

Back when they first opened up King Tut’s tomb. There was an inscription cursing anyone who disturbed the tomb. Then a bunch of the people responsible died or had something bad happen to them. A legend was born.

For those who have seen it, what do you think of the movie Repo: The Genetic Opera?
It’s pretty much a love it or hate it movie isn’t it?
It’s my favorite movie as of now, and I can sing along to every song perfectly. :)
But then again I also love Rocky Horror and The Little Shop of Horrors. Cult classics.

I really liked it, a lot more than I thought I would. I am also a huge Rocky Horror fan (and to a much lesser extent a Little Shop of Horrors fan), I went into it thinking it would be a film that was trying too hard to be a cult film like Rocky Horror but I was pleasantly surprised, it’s quite good with the exception of one or two songs that I did not care for, such as Seventeen. Doesn’t hurt that the Graverobber was easy on eyes as well. Loved the inclusion of Sarah Brightman and was shocked that Paris Hilton managed to actually do a very good good, no one else would have done a better job in that role. I really liked Pavi Largo, loved the mask idea.

Yes it is. My friend told me I had to watch it and I’m really not one for musicals but I loved it! I’m trying to convince my boyfriend to watch it but he’s a little hesitant because it’s a musical. They have a great cast for the movie and the plot for the movie is great too. But definitely, either you love it or hate it.

Gremlins (1984)

IMDB rating: 6.80

Plot: Gremlins begins with inventor Rand Peltzer trying to find a quick gift for his son Billy before returning home from a New York trip. He settles on a unique pet in a Chinatown curio shop—a cute, furry creature known as a Mogwai. Before he leaves, he is warned by the shop’s owner that three rules must be obeyed by a Mogwai owner: 1) Keep it away from bright light, 2) Don’t get any water on it, and 3) Never, never ever feed it after midnight. Rand takes note of these rules and returns home with the Mogwai to his idyllic small-town home of Kingston Falls. Rand’s gift is an instant hit: Billy loves his adorable new pet, naming it Gizmo and taking it everywhere he goes. Unfortunately, he and his friends also begin breaking the rules of Mogwai care. When water is accidentally spilled on Gizmo, it causes him to multiply and produce a number of mischievous little brothers. Among these is the mean-tempered Stripe. Soon enough, the new Mogwai get hold of some food after midnight and this causes them to change from cute fur-balls into nasty, scaly monsters dubbed ‘Gremlins.’
